Job Description
We are looking to hire an experienced design engineer with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in estimating and designing earthing and lightning protection system.
Job Responsibilities
- Review / preparation of earthing and lightning protection layouts.
- Developing conceptual & detailed design solutions on projects with client’s brief.
- Coordinate with the project manager for the schedule of design and engineering activities and establish target completion dates for electrical designs to ensure target dates are achieved within the project schedule.
- Develop, maintain and apply a working knowledge of relevant regulatory, engineering legislation, codes of practice and standards associated with earthing, bonding and lightning protection.
- Maintains awareness of the project electrical specifications, drawings and design criteria.
- Individual work management to ensure deadlines are met.
- Attending, hosting and coordinating meetings with client on site and in the office to resolve technical issues.
- Co-ordinating with the vendor regarding the design related issues.
- Review of equipment sizing calculation, cable sizing calculation, earthing & lightning calculation.
- Necessary visits to onshore and offshore site to collect or verify design inputs.
- Support production team to ensure quality & direction outcomes.
- Continuing to build positive relationships with a well-established client base.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Job Requirements
- Experience in design of earthing systems and lightening protection systems.
- Ability to read, understand, interpret, prepare or amend the technical specifications.
- Ability to understand, prepare and apply design standards and criteria.
- Must be proficient with required computer systems and applications.
- Strong analytic skills and the ability to establish facts and draw valid conclusions from these.
- Knowledge of the latest international standards and specifications of local utilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- UAE Driving License is an added advantage.
